My grandad was born in a bomb shelter in Germany during WWII. He migrated to England and grew up on the same council estate as Noddy Holder.
I grew up in suburban West Midlands - post-industrial Peaky Blinders territory - and spent my childhood playing footy in the cul-de-sac.
As a teenager, we were a foster home for a local rescue centre, so I got to walk, feed, and train dozens of dogs, until we adopted a German Shepherd called Cassie.
I now live in Devon with my wife (Maria), 3-year-old son (Frank), 5-year-old daughter (Mabel), and 12-year-old English Cocker Spaniel (Bella).
My in-laws are farmers and once made it into the national press with a giant lamb they named “Lambo” (supposedly the heaviest ever recorded).
I’m fascinated by complex systems, especially in healthcare, and I want to understand how the NHS works.
By day, I work on building Epic, an electronic health record, for the NHS. I aim to empower healthcare professionals to deliver great care.
My son recently had life-saving surgery to remove a perforated ulcer from his duodenal artery. I’m writing a memoir about it.
I like to sprint and lift weights to keep fit. My nan once saw me chase a football on the beach and said she’d never seen anyone run so fast. Yeah, I’m that fast.
Here's what I'm doing now.
